MAX FC regulations and rules
Rule 1. Ring
The game is played in MAX FC's patented four-sided ring.
Rule 2. Gloves and Bandage
- Only gloves officially approved by the MAX FC organizing committee are used.
-The use of rubber materials or bandages on the knuckle parts is strictly prohibited.
- Bandages and Velcro bandages are permitted and must pass inspection by the competition committee.
- Bandage part: Wear a hand wrap and adhesive bandages are allowed on the wrist, but knuckle parts are not allowed.
(Knuckle parts are widely banned around the world.)
Rule 3. Clothing regulations and age restrictions for players
3-1. regulation player uniform
- Only gloves and clothing (MAX FC trunks) officially approved by the MAX FC organizing committee should be used, and the use of rubber materials on the knuckle parts, bandages, etc. is strictly prohibited.
- Wearing hand wraps and adhesive bandages is allowed on the wrist and back of the hand, but not on the knuckle part. Ankle and knee pads are allowed, but adhesive bandages are prohibited. (However, one round of ankle taping is allowed)
Must pass inspection by the judging committee.
- Protective gear: Both male and female players must wear protective gear and checked by referee.
- Mouthpiece: Not wearing a mouthpiece is prohibited and may be warned or disqualified if not worn. If the player's mouthpiece is missing, the referee takes the player to the corner to wash it and put it back on. No one should say anything additional to the player in the process.
- Players may only enter the ring wearing protective equipment (including shin guards and taping of body parts) approved for use by the referee before the match.
3-2. Prohibitions
- It is prohibited to wear any other items that are not permitted during the game. (Oil, Vaseline, Plaster) Anything that may harm the opposing player or be used for subversive purposes. Items to be used on the torso, arms, legs, and other parts of the body, excluding the face is prohibited. Violation may result in warning or disqualification. (However, the use of single Thai oil that is not mixed with other substances before the game is allowed.)
- Kick attacks with the front leg below the knee (Oblique kick) are prohibited.
- Three cautions of the same nature, such as oblique kicks, low blows, and rope grabs, result in a deduction of 1 point, and four cautions result in disqualification. (However, if you accidentally graze the groin during an attack, it is recognized as an attack, and if it is an intentional blow, you will receive a caution or a deduction of points)

Rule 4. Medical examination, weight examination and weight classification
4-1. medical test
Prior to the weight test, a medical examination separately designated for the player by the MAX FC Standing Committee is required. You can receive a certificate and submit a confirmation. (Example: electroencephalogram, doping test, etc.)
4-2. Weigh-in conducted
An athlete may only step onto the official scale once. You can check up 1 hour to 10 minutes before the official weigh-in to the maximum weight class, and under no circumstances should you exceed the selected weight class.
4-3. In case of weighing failure
ㆍ Over 0.1g – 199g: 1 point deducted for the entire round. (Guarantee reduced by 30%)
ㆍ Overweight from 200g to 299g: 2 points deducted for the entire round. (Guarantee reduced by 50%)
ㆍ Overweight from 300g to 499g: 3 points deducted for the entire round. (Guarantee reduced by 70%)
ㆍ Over 500g: Unconditional loss (100% reduction in guarantee) However, the match continues.
ㆍ Champion Title Match: Even 0.1g of excess weight is not recognized.
(Athletes who fail the weigh-in will be in a non-title match.)
4-3.1. Champion weigh-in failure
The champion's guarantee will be forfeited, and if the champion wins, the victory will be recognized, but the defensive match is not recognized.
4-3.2. Challenger's weigh-in failure
The challenger's guarantee is forfeited, and if the champion already wins, the defense is recognized. On the other hand, even if the challenger wins, the victory is acknowledged, but he cannot become a champion.
4-3.3. If either the champion or challenger exceeds 500g, the match is lost. However, regardless of the score, the one who exceeds the score is recorded as a disqualification. The decisive matches and defense matches, the match continues even if the participating athlete fails the weigh-in.
(If the champion exceeds 500g and the challenger passes the weigh-in, the challenger becomes the champion.)
4-3.4. If an athlete participating in a championship match refuses to compete after failing to weigh in, he or she will receive a penalty.
We assume legal responsibility for any damage caused to the association.
4-3.5. In case of other failures at the weigh-in, point deductions due to excess weight are the same as the existing regulations.
This applies, and if a champion fail to weigh in for two consecutive competitions, the title is immediately forfeited.
In other cases, the decision and order of the referee shall be followed.
4-3.6. Even if a penalty is applied, if one athlete who passed the weigh-in refuses to compete, those who fail the weigh-in will be disqualified and will forfeit all warnings and guarantees.

Rule 5. Second
5-1. second rule
Each player is entitled to two seconds who comply with the rules below.
5-1.1. No second may remain in the ring during the match. Before the round begins, chairs, towels, water bottles, etc. must be removed from the ring.
5-1.2. Two seconds must be located outside the ring and only one person can be in the ring.
5-1.3, If the second receives a caution or warning, points may be deducted from the player. You may receive a caution, warning, or expulsion due to rough behavior that violates sportsmanship.
5-1.4. While performing in the corner, the second has towels prepared for the players. If a fighter is in trouble, he or she can throw the towel into the ring.
However, this excludes when the referee is counting.
5-1.5. For each game, the chairman of the referee team is with the referee, assistant referee, and second referees who will work in each game. Hosted a joint meeting and emphasized compliance with MAX FC's rules. If players violate the rules, not only will they lose points, but they will also lose the championship itself. It is emphasized that this may occur.
5-2. Second's outfit
Second must be dressed accordingly. Wearing shorts, hats (caps), slippers-type shoes, sunglasses, and vests is not allowed, and wear sportswear from the affiliated group. (However, it is possible to wear a sponsor's hat, but it is prohibited to wear a normal hat.)
Rule 6. Round and break time
Round and break time are divided into MAXFC First League, Contender League, Max League and title match.
6-1. MAX FC First League: 2 min 3rd Round 1 min break.
(If KD (down) occurs twice per round and KD (down) occurs three times in the entire round, the game ends as it is)
6-2. MAX FC Contender League: 3 minutes 3 rounds 1-minute break.
6-3. MAX FC MAX LEAGUE (Main League): 3 minutes 3 rounds 1-minute break.
6-4. MAX FC Champion title match: 3 min 5 Round 1 min break.

Rule 7. Referee
The most important thing for the referee is to protect the player, and play fairly with the principles on the ring.
7-1. Referee's Clothes: Referee wears navy trousers, MAX FC accredited referee's uniform and light, flat shoes or boots. Referee wears medical gloves during proceedings and judgment.
7-2. The duties of the referee are as follows.
7-2.1. Strictly watch to see if the rules of the game are well followed and the game is being run fairly.
7-2.2. Every game should be well controlled.
7-2.3. It shall prevent the underdog from being hit excessively or unnecessarily.
7-2.4. Check the player's glove and outfit.
7-2.5. Referee uses four commands.
• "Stop" : When ordering to stop fighting and at the end of the competition
• "Fight" : When the players are ordered to continue the game
• "Break" : When the players fight against each other, when the attack is delayed, or when the players are in a clinch, each player will stand back for a while, and then continue the game
• "Time": When ordering to timekeeper and the Bell Manager to stop Time
7-2.6. Referee shall send a signature to the athlete in a suitable gesture if he or she violates the rules of the game.
7-2.7. After the match, the referee collects and checks the score card from the three judges. After the check, deliver the relevant score card to the head of the headquarters and announce the result.
7-2.8. The referee shall not mark the winner by doing anything, such as raising the player's hand, until the winner is announced in the headquarters seat. You must raise the hand of the winner after the winner of the game is announced.
7-2.9. In the event that the referee disqualifies or suspends a player, first of all, the chairperson of the referee's committee shall determine which player was disqualified or why the game was suspended. The chairman of the judging committee shall have the announcer accurately inform the audience of the decision.
7-3. Authority of the referee: The referee has the following authority.
7-3.1. If the game is lopsided, the game can be stopped at any time.
7-3.2. If it is determined that one player is injured to the extent that he cannot continue the match, the match can be ended at any time after being checked and given consent by the ring doctor.
7-3.3. To prevent fouls, for any reason to ensure fair play, or when the rules need to be reviewed once again, a warning may be given to a player or the match may be temporarily suspended.
7-3.4. If a player does not follow the referee's orders or behaves aggressively or hostilely toward the referee, he or she may be given a caution, warning, or expulsion at any time.
7-3.5. If a player or second does not follow the referee's repeated orders, the referee may disqualify the player or send off the second.
7-3.6. For serious fouls, the player may be disqualified with or without warning.
7-3.7. When a player is declared knocked down, the count may be temporarily suspended if the opposing player intentionally fails to retreat to a neutral corner or delays.
7-3.8. In cases where the rules do not apply appropriately, the actual game situation is taken into consideration and the decision is made and applied according to the situation.
7-4. Warning
If a player does not follow the rules, but not to the extent of disqualification, the referee must stop play and warn the player. Prior to issuing a warning, the referee must order the player to stop the action. Warnings must be given clearly and the athlete must clearly understand the reason and motivation for the warning.
The referee must make correct hand movements for each decision to ensure that the meaning is accurately conveyed to the player in question. After giving a warning, the referee calls the players “Fight!” (continuation) must be ordered. If a player receives four warnings in one match, he or she will be disqualified.
7-5. Caution
The referee may caution a player. This has the nature of natural advice that allows the referee to check or prevent unreasonable behavior, even if it is not a serious violation of the rules. By giving a caution, the referee has the opportunity to give the player the appropriate caution for a rule violation without stopping the game.
7-6. Referee explains MAX FC match rules (First League)
7-6.1. Three cautions of the same nature, such as low blows and rope grabs, result in a deduction of 1point, and four cautions result in disqualification. (However, if you accidentally graze the groin during an attack, it is recognized as an attack, and if it is an intentional blow, you will receive a caution or a deduction of points)
7-6.2. The low blow rest period is 3 minutes, and if the player does not recover and cannot continue the game, a decision will be made through the referee committee meeting.
7-6.3. It is prohibited to take more than two steps after catching the kick, and if the player moves one step, the attack is still allowed.
7-6.4. No hitting on the back of the head or spine.
7-6.5. You can attack with fists, feet, and backspin blows, and Contender League and Max League allow two consecutive knee and backspin blow attacks. (However, clinch elbow attacks and knee strikes are prohibited in First League matches.)
Rule 8. Assistant referee
8-1. Clothing: Assistant referees wear the same clothes as the main referee and may wear glasses when necessary.
8-2. Assistant referee duties
8-2.1. Each assistant referee independently judges the strengths of both players during the match and determines the winner based on the rules.
8-2.2. Assistant referees must not talk to players, other assistant referees or anyone other than the referee during the game to avoid misunderstandings. Phone calls are also prohibited. However, if necessary (e.g. illegal action by a second player, situation where the rope is about to come loose, etc.), you can tell the referee at the end of the game about something he did not see.
8-2.3. Each player's points are recorded on the assistant referees' scorecard after each match.
8-2.4. After the game, the assistant referee adds up the scores, recommends the winner, signs the score sheet, and the assistant referee's decision is announced to the public.
8-2.5. The assistant referee cannot leave until the score is announced to the public.
8-3. Scoring method – Scoring standards and priorities are as follows.
(1) KO
(2) KD (Knock Down)
(3) When a player suffers damage that causes his/her body to shake (when in a groggy state)
(4) Accurate hit (accurate strike)
(5) Attack power (aggressive)

8-4. Scoring method – It is a round scoring system and the winner per round is judged 10 to 9. (KD is 10 to 8)

Rule 9. Timekeeper and Announcer
9-1. Timekeeper's Duties
9-1.1. The timekeeper's main job is to be punctual, keep time for each round, and keep track of each round.
The goal is to keep the interval between rounds. The time interval between each round is 1 minute.
9-1.2. The timekeeper announces the start and end of each round by ringing a gong or bell.
9-1.3. Mark or signal a 10-second time period to clear the ring prior to the start of each round.

9-1.4. The time taken when the referee makes a time call is deducted.
9-1.5. The timekeeper must keep track of every second on the clock.
9-1.6. When a “knockdown” occurs, the timekeeper also makes a hand motion to count each second while the referee counts.

9-1.7. At the end of the game, when the player is "down" and the referee is counting, the bell is not sounded even when the time ends in the first and second rounds, and if the referee orders "Fight!" to announce the start of the game, the bell is sounded. (However, in the last 3 rounds, if the player is down and time has elapsed, ring the bell to announce the end even if it is counting.)
9-2. Announcer's duties (must be seated directly in front of the ring)
9-2.1 When an athlete appears, inform the public of each athlete's name, affiliation, country, weight, and corner command.
9-2.2. 10 seconds before the start of each round, clear the ring by commanding “ring clear” or “second out.”
9-2.3. The start and end of each round must be announced, the results of the match and the name of the winner must be announced.
Rule 10. Judgment
10-1. If an unintentional injury occurs before 1 minute of the 2nd round, the match will be considered invalid. In this case, the player's guarantee will not be paid and the match can be replayed in the next match.
10-2. If any injury occurs after 1 minute of the 2nd round, a point deduction is given to the player who committed the foul. If the player is unable to continue the game even after a 3-minute break, a decision is made after a referee meeting based on the progress of the game.
And in 5-round matches, including the title match, the decision is made based on 1 minute of the 3rd round.
10-3. If a low blow occurs, caution is given up to the second time, and a warning and 1point deduction are given for the third time. Loss due to foul after 3 warnings. However, a blow that passes during the game is recognized as an attack, but a 3-minute break is required due to the blow. If recovery is not possible even after passing the time, the determination of intentionality will be made through a meeting of the referee.
10-4. Knee attacks are allowed up to 2 times, but warnings and points are deducted from the 3rd time. Loss due to foul after 3 warnings.
10-5. Even if the assistant referee's decision is 2:1, the winner is the winner and there is no overtime.
10-6. Even if a down occurs in the 1st, 2nd, domination, or 3rd round, the decision is made as a superiority win.
10-7. Win by decision – Win on points, WP
10-7.1. At the end of the game, the total score scored by the assistant referee determines the winner, and the winner is decided by unanimous or split decision.
10-7.2. The assistant referee scores each point for each round until the end of the game. The player with the highest score according to the total of all rounds is declared the winner of the game.
10-8. Draw – Draw
There are no draws at MAX FC.
10-9. TKO – Win by Technical Knock Out
10-9.1. If a fighter voluntarily withdraws, the second throws a towel into the ring, or the second enters the ring when the referee is not counting, the opponent wins the match by TKO.
10-9.2. If a fighter fails to resume the match immediately after the break between rounds, the opponent is declared the winner of the match by TKO.
10-9.3. If, in the judgment of the referee, the difference in skill between the players is large, or if the player receives an excessively one-sided blow, the match is stopped and the opponent is declared the winner of the match by TKO.
10-9.4. If a fighter is unable to resume the fight after receiving a knockdown, the opponent is declared the winner of the fight by TKO.
10-9.5. When the referee stops the match at his discretion following the advice of the ringside doctor, the opponent is declared the winner of the match by TKO.
10-10. TKO-I - Win by Technical Knock Out Injury
10-10.1. If, in the judgment of the referee, a player is injured by an accurate hit and cannot continue the game, the game is stopped, and the opponent becomes the winner of the game with a TKO-I victory.
10-10.2. See ringside physician advice.
10-11. Disqualification – Win by Disqualification
10-11.1. If a player is disqualified for a foul or any other reason, the opponent is declared the winner of the game by the disqualification decision.
10-11.2. If, in the referee's judgment, a player is injured as a result of an intentional foul and the injured player is no longer able to continue the game due to the injury, the player who committed the foul is disqualified and the injured player is disqualified from the game. becomes the winner.
10-11.3. If a player receives the same warning three times in an entire round of a match, he or she will be automatically disqualified and the opponent will be declared the winner of the match by disqualification.
10-11.4. A player who is disqualified will not receive any points related to that match. If a player is disqualified for illegal or unsportsmanlike conduct, the Chief Referee must refer the matter to the MAX FC Organizing Committee after the match.
10-11.5. In addition, if there is any behavior that violates sportsmanship, the participant may be disqualified by the referee's decision.
10-12. KO - Win by Knock Out
10-12.1. If a fighter is knocked down and fails to resume the match during the count to “10,” the opponent is declared the winner of the match by KO.
10-12.2. If an emergency occurs before the count reaches “10” and the referee summons a ringside doctor into the ring, the opponent wins the match by KO.
10-12.3. In the event of a double KO, both fighters lose by DKO after counting to “10”. However, if there is a player who gets up first, the counter continues for the player who fails to get up.
10-13. NC – No Contest
10-13.1. If an unexpected situation occurs that is beyond the control of the player or referee, such as a ring collapse, lighting supply interruption, or natural disaster, the referee will stop the game and call it a no contest.
(NC) A decision is made.
10-13.2. If both fighters exceed or fall below the official weight limit by 500g, the match will be declared NC. At this time, MAX FC was disciplined for violating the competition regulations.
According to regulations, both players and affiliated organizations are subject to disciplinary action by the MAX FC Disciplinary Committee.
10-13.3. If an injury occurs 1 minute before the start of the 2nd round, a no contest (NC) decision will be made. (In the case of a foul, the player who committed the foul loses the foul.)
Rule 11. Knockdown
11-1. Definition – A player is considered “down” in the following cases:
11-1.1. When a body part above the knee touches the ring floor due to a single or consecutive blow.
11-1.2. When you are left helplessly hanging on a rope due to one or more consecutive blows.
11-1.3. When a person goes outside the rope or part of it comes out of the rope due to a single or consecutive blow.
11-1.4. If a person falls due to a severe blow or is semi-unconscious, even if not leaning against the ropes, and in the judgment of the referee is unable to continue the match.
11-2. Count
11-2.1. The referee must leave some distance between the numbers corresponding to each second when counting, and must also mark each second with his hand so that the player who has been knocked down can recognize it. Before counting “one,” start counting “one” after 1 second has elapsed after the player is downed. If the opposing player does not go to the neutral corner despite the referee's order, the referee stops counting until the opposing player does. Counting after confirming that the opposing player has gone to the neutral corner, count again from the second you stopped. If the referee starts counting for either player, the assistant referee writes “KD” on the score sheet. If a player is “downed” by a blow to the head, the assistant referee writes “KD+H” on the score card.
11-2.2. If a player is down, the opposing player must immediately move to the neutral corner designated by the referee. The opposing player may continue the match only after the knocked down player gets up and “Fight!” is commanded.
11-3. Mandatory 8 second count
If a player is “downed” by a blow, the referee may not resume the match before counting to “eight (8)!” even if the downed player is ready to resume the match.
11-4. Knock Out
After the referee counts “10!”, the match is over and is considered a “knockout.”
11-5. If you are “down” at the end of the round
11-5.1. In rounds 1 and 2, the referee continues counting. However, in the third round, the count stops at the end and only downs are recognized. If the referee counts to “10!”, the fighter is considered to have lost the match due to a “knockout”, and if the fighter is ready to fight again before counting to “10!”, the mandatory count is Count to “eight (8)!” and command “Fight!”
11-6. When a player is downed a second time without a light hit.
11-6.1. If a fighter is “downed” by a blow and counts to “eight (8)!” and then falls again without a light blow after the match is resumed, the referee must count again from “eight (8)!” where he stopped counting.
Rule 12. Protest
MAX FC will not accept any protests and the decision of the Referee Committee will be final.
Rule 13. Foul Conduct
13-1. Types of Foul Acts
If a player intentionally does any of the following, it is considered a foul.
13-1.1. Receiving with the head (butting), spitting at an opponent, or poking an opponent's eye with a finger.
13-1.2. Intentionally spitting out the mouthpiece
13-1.3. Knocking down or bending an opponent using judo or wrestling techniques
13-1.4. Falling over while an opponent is lying on the floor
13-1.5. Attacking when an opponent is down or trying to get up after being downed
13-1.6. Attacking while holding the rope or using the rope in an illegal manner
13-1.7. Use of insulting and offensive language
13-1.8. 2 cautions for 2 knee attacks, 1 warning and 1point deduction for 3 knee attacks.
13-1.9. If the referee does not step back when the referee orders “Break!” and immediately strikes the opponent.
13-1.10. If you insult the referee or engage in belligerent behavior towards the referee
13-1.11. When holding the opponent's leg and moving more than 1 step without attacking
13-1.12. Intentionally falling down to avoid being hit by the opponent
13-1.13. When both fighters fall out of the ring and the opposing fighter intentionally interferes with one fighter's attempt to enter the ring.
13-1.14. In case of using prohibited items specified in the World Anti-Doping Agency WADA and Korea Anti-Doping Commission KADA code items
13-1.15. In case of second: Both players and second are responsible for their respective actions.
Rule 14. Rules regarding drugs, etc.
14-1. taking prohibited drugs
Athletes are prohibited from taking any substances or chemical additives other than regular foods. You must follow the regulations on prohibited items set forth in the World Anti-Doping Agency WADA and the Korea Anti-Doping Commission KADA code items.
14-2. penalty
Players who take prohibited substances will be disqualified or suspended by MAX FC and must compensate MAX FC for the resulting penalty.
14-3. local anesthetic
Local anesthetics can be used at the discretion of the medical staff.
14-4. Prohibited Substances
Prohibited substances are consistent with those banned by MAX FC and those banned by the IOC.
- Supplementary provisions -
1. These regulations will be revised and take effect from the 25th MAX FC First League competition on April 22, 2023.
2. As for other unrecorded rules and regulations, where there is no disagreement between parties, the decision shall be made by the referee.
